Group work is one way in which some people prefer to work on their issues and problems. It is often helpful to be a part of a professionally- and therapeutically-facilitated group that shares similar struggles. With the help of a trained professional, the dynamics of the personalities in the group can provide a safe and non-threatening “working ground” on which to practice new behaviors, or to gain new insights about one’s self through the eyes of others in the group. The group also provides a place where individuals can see how others confront and resolve, or simply learn to live with, similar issues.
We offer group counseling on various topics, including but not limited to: Boundaries, Eating Disorders, Healing from Addictions, Art Therapy, Parenting, Couple Communication, Chronic Pain, Grief Work, Dream Work, Singles, Women’s Issues, Men’s Issues, Second Half of Life Issues, Healing after an Abusive Relationship, and Exploration of Spiritual Issues.
If you have a group of friends, coworkers, family members, teenagers etc., who are all struggling with similar issues and would like to have a trained professional facilitate the group’s process, please call or email us to check for scheduling availability. Please keep in mind when considering the formation of a group that groups of five or less members provide the best “group dynamic”.
