Group Therapy at Journey Coaching & Counseling

Group Therapy and Counseling at Journey CCSGroup work is one way in which some people prefer to work on their issues and problems.  It is often helpful to be a part of a professionally and therapeutically facilitated group that share similar struggles.

With the help of a trained professional, the dynamics of the personalities in the group can provide a safe and non-threatening ‘working ground’ on which to practice new behaviors, or to gain new insights about one’s self through the eyes of others in the group.

The group also provides a place where individuals can see how others confront and resolve, or simply learn to live with, similar issues.

If you would like to do some group work, or if you have a group of people who would like to do some group work on a particular issue, please call us and we can provide a trained professional to facilitate and therapeutically guide the group process.

All groups at Journey Coaching and Counseling are facilitated by psychotherapists at Journey.  Those groups that are led by Pre-licensed therapists are supervised by Dr. Renee Miller.

The following groups are now forming:

H.O.P.E. - An 8-week educational group for those who are in relationships that may be bordering on abuse or that are clearly abusive and escalating in violence. It is a group for those who want information about the dynamics of abusive and violent relationships, safety planning, and healing after the abuse and/or violence ends.  The H.O.P.E. group is for those who want to Heal, Overcome, Prevent, and Empower themselves against relationship violence and abuse.   The dynamics of relationship abuse and violence are different for men and women who have been victimized in these relationships.  For this reason, we provide a group for women and a group for men, each specifically addressing the gender-based issues encountered in abusive and violent relationships.  Both groups will be held at the Journey offices.
